Road Trip Through Andalusia

Road trip through Andalusia

This adventure was particularly exciting because I discovered Andalusia by car — together with a good friend. What I especially like about Andalusia is not only the Spanish culture but also the strong influence of African culture. The weather is usually sunny and very warm, as large parts of the region are very dry. So you always need to carry enough water on the road.

Málaga, Beaches and the Big Cities

Málaga
The Start in Málaga

Our trip began in Málaga, where we flew to. There we rented a car and our adventure could begin. We really wanted to visit the beaches in the south of Spain. The beaches were truly beautiful, even though the water was still a bit cold. Many places can only be reached by car as they are far from the larger cities.

Granada, Córdoba and Seville

The first city we visited was Granada. Then we continued to Córdoba and then to Seville. In each city we did a Free Walking Tour and gathered many interesting facts about history and culture. The region is very large, but with a car traveling was no problem for us.

Ronda and the Caminito del Rey

Ronda, Andalusia
The Village Above the Gorge

Besides the large cities, Andalusia also has many small villages worth visiting. One of these was Ronda, known for its impressive bridge over the gorge. The view from there is spectacular and the place has its own unique charm.

Caminito del Rey What you absolutely must visit if you love adventure is the Caminito del Rey. This path was once considered very dangerous, but after renovation it is now safe — and the view along the route is simply breathtaking**.**
