Eastern Turkey

Eastern Turkey

While doing my Erasmus in Istanbul, I got to know many new people. One day I also met some Czechs who invited me on an adventure. I agreed immediately, as it sounded really exciting.

From Trabzon into the East

Rize and the Tea Plantations

We flew to eastern Turkey and rented a car in Trabzon. Our plan was to explore various cities and regions, for example the area around Rize, which is known for its green landscapes and tea plantations. We also wanted to travel close to the border with Armenia.

The People in the East

Although many people in eastern Turkey did not speak English, they were always helpful, open, and friendly. Compared to people in Central Europe, I found their openness to be something truly special. I felt very comfortable there.

Overall we truly enjoyed this trip very much.
